Olds Military Model Trumpet 1934

Offered is an Olds Military Model trumpet. The serial number is 1248 which I believe dates the instrument to 1934. How often do you get a chance to even see something like this? Olds was one of the premier brass manufacturers of its’ day. They claimed that the same amount of work went into their student instruments as went in to their professional models. This instrument is in good condition and as you can see the thing that made these instrument so unique is the hammered bell. The slides and valves work although I would recommend a good chemical cleaning by a qualified repair facility. Check the pictures closely there are some scratches on the lead pipe and a slight dent. Also the bell has been dented and straightened some time in the past. The third valve slide stop rod is missing. I can’t really speak to the lacquer as I don’t know what it looked like when it was new. Just check the pictures closely and make your own determination. I pictured the valves so you can see how little they are worn. There is an Olds 3 mouthpiece included (I do not know if that is original) and there is no case. I will wrap the instrument well in bubble wrap for shipping. It’s is certainly and interesting and collectible piece. Good luck and bid often.
